All the SUP events around Atlanta are kid friendly, including with Surfrider Foundation Atlanta Chapter, Atlanta Surf Posse, and Paddle Anywhere. Paddle Anywhere is sponsoring a paddleboard race on Lake Lanier at the Olympic Rowing Center on June 25. There will be a kids division. Lot’s of first time paddlers. Hope to see you there.

In the Smyrna area, my favorite places to paddle in order of preference are: Lake Lanier, Stone Mountain, Hooch at Azalea Park, Metro Hooch, and Lake Alatoona. Metro Hooch is the closest, but I like the longer padddle sessions.
